This Crime Stoppers Program began in 1999 from the efforts of our County Commissioners and our Police Department. Our Program now operates as an independant organization. The concept has developed into a combination of efforts by local media, businesses, civic and social clubs, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Donations of airtime, newspaper space, and reward monies have established Crime Stoppers as an effective tool to fight crime in the area.
The mission of Crime Stoppers of Suwannee County shall be to assist law enforcement through the anonymous “tip line” with information on wanted persons and other criminal activity, lessen neighborhood tensions, promote community involvement in all aspects of law enforcement, promote a community offensive against violence and property crimes, and motivate the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and to reward such cooperation.
